Meet our production partner, SOKO Kenya! Based in Kikambala on the Kenyan coast, they are an ethical manufacturer that truly embraces a fair, kind and transparent work culture. In addition to paying above living wages, SOKO provides employees with paid leave and stipends for family emergencies, free pre-primary childcare for all employees with children from ages 2-4, daily mid-morning tea and midday lunch, and clear, outlined processes for job advancement. Woven by India's oldest certified fair-trade artisanal weaving cooperative in West Bengal, these textiles are a dream! Each fabric is a hand-loomed blend of cotton and linen. We chose this blend for two reasons: 1) to create subtle texture and movement within the weave; and (more practically) 2) so that your shirts and dresses will be super easy to wash and wear, as they'll be more wrinkle resistant, more durable, and drape a bit heavier when worn. (While the fabric was produced in India, the dresses were all proudly stitched in Kenya by our team.)

The pattern is just gorgeous. I paired this with a Murano glass ring and necklace that match the blues (and the right even matches the orange gold) perfectly, with gold earrings and bracelets, navy slacks and navy mock-turtleneck. Easy casual elegance, IMHO. I purchased a size S --I am XS in dresses but the S shirts fit well given than I often wear them over another shirt, and I appreciate the extra inch or two in length this gives me. Zuri comes through again. Thank you Sandra and Ashleigh! Not to mention the women who designed this lovely fabric and made my blouse.

I'm so excited to begin wearing my new Budgie shirt now that we are finally transitioning into fall here in the California desert! This material, woven in India, is a bit more substantial than my Kitenge shirts and dresses but softens up with wear and washing. Like all Zuri clothing this shirt is generously cut, you may want to size down for a more fitted look. I like my shirts loose and flowy. Also, the Budgie travels well with little wrinkling. Best of all, it makes me happy and brings smiles and compliments when out and about!

The sweet floral fabric of this shirt is what I think of when I think cotton - soft and feels lived in the first day you wear it. The pattern is just lovely, and the shirt is effortless. Easy to care for, easy to wear, easy to love. The kind of apparel that makes your day just a little bit better.

This is a great fall shirt! It’s oddly cozy and will go nicely with both capris and long pants. The print is interesting without being overwhelming. Very solid choice for wearing to the office.
Sizing wise…I have wide shoulders and no hips, and this shirt is built for the opposite. So, while it fits my shoulders it’s a bit big around the waist/hips. Also the arms seem to run short so just know that in advance. It has a bit of a flare to the bottom of it but I like it - makes it different from other button downs.
Overall I’m a fan and will likely reach for this one a lot over the cooler months
